He is currently associated with Network 18 as a presenter at IBN7. ==Biography== Shahidi was born and brought up in Gaya, a southern district of Bihar in a humble family. His father Dr Shahid Ahmed Shoaib is a well known Urdu poet and professor of anthropology in Magadh University. From an obscure part of Bihar, Gaya, Shahidi has gone on to anchor for BBC, Home TV and Star TV. He recently joined another top notch sports broadcaster ESPN. An alumnus of Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi, He is active in the field of theater as well and does Dastangoi (An old art form of storytelling in Urdu). When the BiTV was launched in early 1990s he was a part of the team. A short time later he moved to Home TV where he anchored the BBC News in Hindi. He joined NDTV in the year 1998 and stayed there till 2001. From there he moved to ESPN Star sports as an Anchor of their flagship show SPORTSCENTER.
